More Fergie Time For Blues

Written by Newcastle Utd

Shane Ferguson has extended his loan spell with Birmingham City after an impressive first month at St. Andrew's

Shane Ferguson has extended his loan spell with Birmingham until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old Northern Ireland international has made five starts and one substitute appearance for the Blues since joining them on an emergency loan at the beginning of last month.

Since then, he has scored his first senior club goal - a stunning free-kick in City's 4-0 win at Crystal Palace - and his performances at both left-back and left wing have impressed former Newcastle midfielder Lee Clark, who is in charge at St. Andrew's.

His initial spell ended after Monday's 3-2 defeat to Wolverhampton but he will now stay on for their final six games of the campaign.

Birmingham are at home to Millwall on Saturday before facing away matches at Leicester and Bristol City.

They host Leeds on Saturday, 20th April then travel to Ipswich with their final fixture of the campaign coming at home to Blackburn.
