Miss Northumbria's Star Turn

Newcastle United Women's star Stephanie Lorraine is Miss Northumbria, and also a model for our Official Club Stores

Newcastle United Women's star Stephanie Lorraine landed a trophy with a difference earlier this year when she was named Miss Northumbria - and now the 19-year-old is turning her hand to modelling.

The full-back has sported the Toon's new change kit for the Club's Official Store, and will also be used to promote a whole host of items from their ladies wear range over the coming weeks.

Former Gateshead College Student Stephanie won the coveted title at the end of June and will now go on to represent Northumberland in the Miss England competition later in the year.

And now the defender, who also runs for the Gateshead Harriers and has represented them at national level, will soon be spotted in the Magpies' three stores in Eldon Square, the Metrocentre and at the Sports Direct Arena.

Stephanie, who is due to start East 15 Acting School at the University of Essex in October, said: "My football club all think I'm a bit strange because I'm a little bit of a contrast to them.

"I like football, but I also like getting my hair and make-up done as well, so I'm definitely a girly girl.

"I've represented by county in cross country, athletics and football and now to represent Northumberland in the Miss England final will be incredible.

"I start acting school in October but I think Miss Northumberland has given me confidence before I start. Also for girls like me who play football, winning shows me that you can go for glamorous things and do things well."
