Mexico Clash For Krul And Holland

Written by Newcastle Utd

Tim Krul's Holland will face Mexico in the last 16 of the World Cup, after topping Group B

By Anthony Marshall - Newcastle United Managing Editor

Tim Krul's Holland will face Mexico in the last 16 of the World Cup, after topping Group B.

A 2-0 victory over Chile on Monday night secured the Netherlands' place on top of the pile, setting up a clash with Mexico - who were Group A runners-up - in Fortaleza on Sunday (5pm kick-off).

Krul was an unused substitute for the third successive game of the tournament as late goals from substitutes Leroy Fer and Memphis Depay.

A fiesty encounter seemed to be heading for a stalemate, but in the 77th minute Norwich midfielder Fer headed home a well-worked corner.

And Depay sealed all three points in stoppage time with his second goal of the tournament - putting the finishing touch on a Dutch breakaway.
