Check out our player profiles for each of Newcastle United's new Academy players

By Dan King - Newcastle United Digital Editor

Last week, Newcastle United's new scholars began their full-time football careers as they reported to Little Benton for pre-season training.

Stefan Broccoli, Luke Charman, Jamie Holmes, Jack Hunter, Louis Johnson, Sean Longstaff, Michael Newberry, Ben Pollock, Ben Smith, Lewis Suddick, Jake Trodd, Dan Ward and Paul Woolston have all signed forms with the Magpies.

Over the next two years, they will look to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Adam Armstrong, Rolando Aarons and Lubo Satka - not to mention players like Paul Dummett and Sammy Ameobi - and earn professional contracts.

Goalkeeper Woolston made national news when, as a 15-year-old, he kept a clean sheet against Manchester United on his under-21s debut last season while Suddick's grandfather, Alan, played for Newcastle in the 1960s and Pollock's father, Jamie, turned out for Middlesbrough and Manchester City.

But what about the rest? We've compiled player profiles of them all and photographs will follow over the next few days.

Click here to learn more about the new intake. Who knows, some of them might be stars of the future.
