Mathieu Debuchy has become the 20th French-born player to appear for Newcastle in the Premier League

When Mathieu Debuchy made his debut against Norwich on Saturday he became the 20th French-born player to appear for Newcastle United in the Premier League.

The right-back signed from Lille earlier this month and followed in the footsteps of the likes of David Ginola, Laurent Robert, Olivier Bernard and Hatem Ben Arfa by pulling on the black and white striped shirt..

At Carrow Road at the weekend he also became the 175th player in total to turn out for the Magpies during the restructured top flight.
