Sylvain Marveaux has today officially become a Newcastle United player, completing his switch to St. James' Park.
The 25-year-old winger agreed terms with the Magpies last month on a five-year-deal, but had to wait until 1st July for the transfer to be completed. And now it has, meaning the former France Under 21 international will be part of manager Alan Pardew's squad for the forthcoming season.
Before arriving on Tyneside Marveaux was a one-club man, joining Rennes as a 15-year-old in 2001. He made his first-team debut for Les Rouges in 2006 and went on to make more than 100 appearances for them, scoring 16 goals in the process.
