Magpies Heading For Maritimo

Written by Newcastle Utd

Find out who's in the squad for United's trip to Maritimo in Group D of the Europa League

By Anthony Marshall - Newcastle United Club Reporter

Newcastle United are jetting out to Madeira ahead of Thursday night's Europa League Group D fixture against Maritimo (6pm kick-off).

Manager Alan Pardew has named a 19-man party for the match at the Estadio dos Barreiros, which blends youth and experience.

Veteran Steve Harper - fresh from his first Premier League appearance in 17 months - is on the plane, along with the likes of Shola Ameobi and Steven Taylor.

At the other end of the spectrum is 17-year-old Adam Campbell, who became the Magpies' youngest European debutant when he featured against Atromitos in the qualifying round, while there are also places for Mehdi Abeid, Shane Ferguson and Sammy Ameobi.

As always, nufc.co.uk is the only place to come for in-depth coverage of the United, be it at home or abroad.

Club Reporters Anthony Marshall and Dan King will bring fans previews, live text updates, reports and reaction from the fixture, with Club Photographer Ian Horrocks providing exclusive images all the way.

And Newcastle supporters should also stay tuned to nufcTV, as Video Reporter Rob Scanlon supplies the manager's pre-game press conference, post-match interviews and highlights exclusively for our subscribers.
