Loan Watch: Xisco Can't Slay Hercules

Written by Newcastle Utd

United's on-loan striker is on the losing side as Deportivo fall to defeat at home to Hercules

By Dan King - Newcastle United Club Reporter

Xisco played 67 minutes for Deportivo La Coruna against Hercules on Sunday, but couldn't help his team avoid defeat.

He came off the bench as Depor went down to a 1-0 defeat at the Municipal de Riazor against another side who were relegated from La Liga last season.

The United striker, on a season-long loan at the club where he began his career, had been an unused substitute in Depor's opening Segunda Division game of the season - a 1-0 win over Recreativo.

This is his third spell with the Galician club. He scored 12 goals in 44 games in his first incarnation before signing for United in 2008, and netted twice in nine appearances during a loan spell last season.
