Loan Watch: Ranger - 'I'm A Changed Man'

Nile Ranger revealed an interesting t-shirt message after scoring to help Sheffield Wednesday secure promotion from League One

By Dan King - Newcastle United Club Reporter

Nile Ranger scored the clincher as Sheffield Wednesday were promoted from League One - before revealing a t-shirt bearing the message: "I am a changed man."

The 21-year-old striker headed home from Chris Lines' delivery on 52 minutes in a 2-0 win against Wycombe at Hillsborough as the Owls finished second, ahead of city rivals United who must now navigate the play-offs.

And having made headlines more for his antics off the pitch than on it this season, Ranger wasted no time in lifting up his shirt to display the slogan to the 38,082 crowd - Wednesday's biggest attendance of the season.

Ranger had earlier had a goal ruled out for offside and was only denied a second by a last-ditch Gary Doherty tackle and ended his loan spell with two goals in eight appearances for Dave Jones' side.

As well as his t-shirt, Ranger's lip tattoo of a smiley face also got an airing after the final whistle as the team celebrated on the pitch.

Elsewhere in League One, MK Dons lost 1-0 at home to Walsall but were already certain of a place in the play-offs and finished the season in fifth place.

Alan Smith started before making way for Jabo Ibhere on 59 minutes.
