Loan Watch: Haris On Target

Written by Newcastle Utd

Haris Vuckic scored for Rotherham on Tuesday night as the Millers boosted their League One promotion hopes with victory over Brentford

Haris Vuckic was only on the pitch for a matter of seconds on Tuesday night - but that's all the time he needed to get his name on the scoresheet for Rotherham.

The Millers - now up to fourth in League One - hosted second-placed Brentford and were already leading 2-0 through Kieran Agard's double - the first a penalty won by Vuckic's fellow Newcastle loanee, James Tavernier.

In the 91st minute of stoppage time, Vuckic entered the fray and wasted no time in jinking into the box and drilling home his fourth goal for the Millers.

Tavernier played the full match.

Meanwhile Shane Ferguson appeared as an 86th minute substitute as Birmingham eased their relegation worries with a 3-2 win at Millwall.

In the Scottish Premier League, St. Mirren lost 1-0 at home to St. Johnstone. Conor Newton started but came off at half time while Adam Campbell was an unused substitute.
