Loan Watch: Hampden Heartache

Written by Newcastle Utd

Fraser Forster suffered Scottish League Cup final disappointment as Celtic lost 1-0 to Kilmarnock at Hampden Park on Sunday

By Dan King - Newcastle United Club Reporter

Fraser Forster missed out on picking up silverware as Celtic were beaten 1-0 by Kilmarnock in the final of the Scottish League Cup.

The on-loan goalkeeper is likely to win a Scottish Premier League championship medal with the Hoops currently 21 points clear at the top of the table, but was beaten by Dieter van Tornhout's late goal at Hampden Park on Sunday.

In League One, James Tavernier again missed out for MK Dons with a knee injury but Alan Smith played 90 minutes in their 1-1 draw at Chesterfield on Saturday.

And Paul Dummett made it two clean sheets in three appearances for Gateshead as the Heed won 1-0 at Cambridge in the Blue Square Bet Premier.

The 20-year-old defender played the whole game for Ian Bogie's side.
