Newcastle United's loan stars went goal crazy on Saturday with no less than three of them scoring for their temporary teams.
Conor Newton's fine run in front of goal continued on as St. Mirren took on Queen of the South in the Scottish Cup. The midfielder's ninth minute half-volley was his third strike in four matches but the match finished 2-2 with Newton playing the whole game.
In the Championship, Dan Gosling grabbed his second goal for Blackpool in their 2-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday. He was also booked as he completed another 90 minutes.
And in League One, James Tavernier marked his debut for Rotherham with a goal in their 4-1 win over Gillingham, controlling Lee Frecklington's pass before firing home.
Haris Vuckic also made his Millers debut as an 83rd minute substitute.
Elsewhere, Shane Ferguson was restored to Birmingham's starting line-up and played for 68 minutes as they won 3-0 at Barnsley.
But Michael Richardson, who had started Accrington's midweek win over Fleetwood, was an unused substitute as Stanley lost 1-0 at Northampton.
On Friday, Dijon drew 1-1 away to Nimes with Romain Amalfitano coming on in the 56th minute.
