Loan Watch: Buddies Beaten By Basement Boys

Written by Newcastle Utd

Conor Newton and Paul Dummett were involved as St. Mirren lost to bottom-of-the-table Dundee in the Scottish Premier League

By Dan King - Newcastle United Club Reporter

St. Mirren were beaten by the Scottish Premier League's bottom club, Dundee, at Dens Park on Wednesday night.

Newcastle midfielder Conor Newton started but Paul Dummett was surprisingly only named amongst the substitutes.

Dougie Imrie gave the Buddies a 20th minute lead after good work from Newton and former United youngster Lewis Guy but John Baird equalised in the second half.

Dummett was then introduced in the 77th minute - but seconds later, Jamie McAlister stole in to make it 2-1 to the hosts.

And they held on to claim only their fourth league win of the campaign.
