On a disappointing afternoon for Newcastle, the Club's loan players also endured a miserable weekend

On an afternoon when Newcastle were dumped out of the FA Cup by Brighton and Hove Albion, United's loan players didn't fare much better on Saturday.
Despite scoring three times in his previous five games, Bradden Inman was only on the bench when Crewe hosted Stevenage in the first match since he extended his loan spell until February.
And although they took a first-half lead through Chuks Aneke, the in-form Alex found themselves 2-1 down to goals from Lucas Akins and Marcus Haber by the time Inman was introduced as a 75th-minute substitute. He couldn't inspire a comeback and so Crewe slipped to only their second league defeat since November.
Also on the losing side was Curtis Good, who started his first League Two game for Bradford after agreeing to renew his stay at the Pulse Stadium until February.
A 2-0 defeat at struggling Barnet - managed by former Holland star Edgar Davids - saw the Bantams slip out of the play-off places.
Blyth Spartans beat Matlock Town 2-1 but did so without Michael Riley and Marcus Maddison, while Workington drew 1-1 with Boston United. Magpies goalkeeper Jonathan Mitchell played the whole game while JJ Hooper, who had been injured in the act of scoring for the Reds last week, started on the bench but came on after 60 minutes as his side scored a late leveller.
