Andre Marriner will referee Newcastle's Premier League game away at Manchester United on Saturday

Andre Marriner will referee Newcastle United's Barclays Premier League game away at Manchester United on Saturday (12.45pm kick-off).
It is the third time the West Midlands-based official has taken charge of a Magpies' match this season, having been the man in the middle of United's opening day 4-0 defeat away at Manchester City, and their 2-2 home draw with Liverpool in October.
On that afternoon at St. James' Park, Marriner booked five players including Yoan Gouffran and Mathieu Debuchy, and sent-off defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa just before half-time.
In total this term he has overseen 16 fixtures across the Premier League, Champions League, Europa League and League Two, issuing 58 yellow cards and five reds, awarding two penalties.
The 42-year-old began refereeing in 1992 when he was asked to stand-in for an official who did not turn up at a local league match, and he progressed through the ranks to become a Football League referee 11 years later.
Marriner's first Premier League appointment came in November 2004 with a 4-0 victory for Charlton Athletic over Norwich City, and he took charge of the 2013 FA Cup final between Manchester City and Wigan at Wembley.
On Saturday at Old Trafford, Marriner will be assisted by Peter Kirkup and Sian Massey, with Neil Swarbrick the game's fourth official.
