Hagen To Referee Metalist Clash

Written by Newcastle Utd

By Dan King - Newcastle United Club Reporter

Norwegian Tom Harald Hagen will be the referee when Newcastle host Metalist Kharkiv in the first leg of the Europa League's round of 32 on Thursday.

The 34-year-old teacher has officiated in the top league of his home country since 2006 and three years later took charge of his first European game.

Since then, he has refereed World Cup and European Championships qualifying matches, international friendlies and Champions League games, including two group stage fixtures this season.

Hagen will be assisted by compatriots Dag-Roger Nebben and Magnus Lundberg, while Svein-Erik Edvartsen and Anders Johansen will be the additional assistant referees behind each goal.

Sven Erik Midthjel will be the fourth official.

Tickets are still available for Thursday's game, and can be purchased by clicking here
