Chris Foy will take charge of Newcastle United's Premier League home game against Southampton on Sunday (1.30pm kick-off).
It is the third time this season that the Lancashire-based official has refereed a Magpies match, having overseen a 2-1 home victory over West Brom at the end of October and a 7-3 defeat away at Arsenal in December.
On that night at the Emirates Stadium, Foy only booked one player - United full-back Davide Santon.
During the 2012/13 campaign he has been in the middle of 25 games across the Premier League, FA Cup, Capital One Cup, Championship, League One and League Two, handing out 46 yellow cards, and one red.
Foy started officiating in 1983 and worked his way up the ranks before becoming a Premier League referee in 2001 - with his first appointment coming in December of that year as Bolton and Charlton played out a goalless draw.
The 50-year-old was in charge of the 2009 League Cup final and the following year's FA Cup final, and is widely regarded as one of the country's best referees.
On Sunday at St. James' Park, Foy will be assisted by Simon Beck and Harry Lennard, with Mark Halsey the game's fourth official.
