Ferguson Joins Birmingham

Written by Newcastle Utd

Northern Irish ace Shane Ferguson has joined Birmingham City on loan from Newcastle United

By Dan King - Newcastle United Club Reporter

Shane Ferguson has joined Championship side Birmingham City on an emergency loan from Newcastle United.

The 21-year-old will join up with former Magpies player Lee Clark at St. Andrew's up until Monday, 1st April which will take him up until the Blues' game against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Northern Ireland international Ferguson has made 14 appearances in all competitions for Newcastle this term but hasn't figured since coming on as a late substitute in the 7-3 defeat at Arsenal in December.

So, like Sammy Ameobi who joined Middlesbrough earlier in the week, Alan Pardew hopes the Derry-born left-footer will benefit from regular football in the Championship.

He could make his debut away to Hull City on Saturday and will wear number 32.
