Northern Ireland international Shane Ferguson will line up for Newcastle United's under-21s at Blyth Spartans on Friday night (kick-off 7.30pm).

Gael Bigirimana is also included in Peter Beardsley's squad for the friendly at Croft Park, while Olivier Kemen could make his return from injury.

Meanwhile, Samuel Perez - brother of Magpies striker Ayoze - is set to play for Spartans alongside former Newcastle youngsters Ben Sayer and Alex Nicholson.

Young forward Callum Roberts has caught the eye this summer, with his superb solo goal against Eintracht Frankfurt becoming something of a YouTube sensation, and he will hope to shine again for Newcastle.

Admission is by paying on the turnstiles with prices set at £5 for adults and £2 concessions.

The squad is: Gael Bigirimana, Jamie Cobain, Ben Drennan, Shane Ferguson, Macaulay Gillesphey, Tom Heardman, Olivier Kemen, Joe Kerridge, Ryan McKinnon, Greg Olley, Brendan Pearson, Jonathyn Quinn, Callum Roberts, Liam Smith, Jordan Storey, Callum Williams, Freddie Woodman.
