Inman and Ferguson on target during Under-19 qualifiers

NEWCASTLE United's youngsters continued their highly successful Euro Qualifying matches at Under-19 level with Brad Inman and Shane Ferguson on target on Monday.

Australian-born Inman, opting to represent his mother's country of birth, Scotland, netted his second in as many matches as they enjoyed a 6-1 thrashing of Armenia to book their place in next year's Elite Round of qualifying ahead of next summer's finals in France.

The 17-year-old was also among the scorers on Saturday as the Scots strode to a 3-0 victory over Romania. They now wrap up this stage of qualifying with a game against hosts Austria on Thursday.

Elsewhere, in Bosnia, Shane Ferguson bagged his second of the qualifying tournament with a free-kick as Northern Ireland ran out 4-0 victors over the hosts in Sarajevo.

The Northern Irish, who also included Magpie youngster Patrick McLaughlin and unused substitute Michael McCrudden, are now guaranteed of their place in the next round.

Ryan Donaldson and England are also through, but Haris Vuckic's Slovenia have been eliminated.
