England And Turkey Reach Montaigu Final

Written by Newcastle Utd

Kyle Cameron and Adam Armstrong helped England to reach the final of the Montaigu Tournament, where they will meet Daniel Barlaser's Turkey

By Dan King - Newcastle United Club Reporter

Newcastle youngsters Adam Armstrong and Kyle Cameron helped England under-16s to reach the final of the Montaigu Tournament with a 1-1 draw against Germany.

And that set up a clash with fellow Academy starlet Daniel Barlaser's Turkey on Monday after they beat Japan 2-0 in Les Essarts.

The Young Lions knew a point in Eso La Roche would be enough to see them top their group after a 1-1 draw with Holland and a 3-1 win over Chile.

Cameron started at left-back while Armstrong began on the bench in the decisive match on Saturday but came on in the 70th minute.

Meanwhile Barlaser was a 55th minute substitute for the Turks, who had drawn with Portugal and hosts France in their previous games and so won the other group with their victory.
