Newcastle United goalkeeper Rob Elliot has been called up to the Republic of Ireland senior squad for the first time.
The 27-year-old has been drafted in to interim manager Noel King's 23-man squad for their World Cup qualifying double header against Germany (Friday, 11th October) and Kazakhstan (Tuesday, 15th October).
Elliot replaces former Charlton Athletic teammate Darren Randolph, who misses out with a shoulder injury, and is one of three goalkeepers in the party alongside Millwall's David Forde and Kieren Westwood, of Sunderland.
The Magpies' number 21 has previously represented Ireland at under-19 level and has made 19 appearances for Newcastle since his arrival on Tyneside in the summer of 2011.
