Fabricio Coloccini came from the bench to help Argentina beat Italy in Rome on Wednesday night.
The Newcastle skipper was a 71st minute replacement for Ezequiel Garay as the South Americans won 2-1 in the friendly match at the Stadio Olimpico.
Elsewhere, Shane Ferguson played the whole 90 minutes as Northern Ireland recorded an excellent 1-0 World Cup qualifying win over Russia at Windsor Park.
And Shola Ameobi started in Nigeria's 2-0 win over South Africa, figuring in the opening 45 minutes.
France drew 0-0 in a friendly away to Belgium, but United duo Moussa Sissoko and Mathieu Debuchy were unused substitutes, while Cheick Tiote was not involved as the Ivory Coast lost 4-1 to Mexico.
Haris Vuckic started and finished the match as Slovenia under-21s lost 1-0 at home to Estonia, picking up a late booking, while young defender Lubo Satka played the full game as Slovakia under-19s beat Turkey 1-0 thanks to an 87th minute goal.
Meanwhile, Kevin Mbabu has also been on international duty too. He was part of a training camp with the Swiss under-19 team, but they had no fixture.
