Facundo Ferreyra is part of a strong Newcastle United under-21 squad to face Bolton Wanderers on Monday night.

The Argentine striker is named as an over-age player in Peter Beardsley's side for the Magpies' Barclays Under-21 Premier League Division Two opener at the Lancashire FA's County Ground headquarters (kick-off 7pm).

Ferreyra - nicknamed 'Chucky' - joined United on a season-long loan from Shakhtar Donetsk earlier this month.

Sammy Ameobi, Adam Armstrong, Gael Bigirimana and Shane Ferguson are also involved for Newcastle's second-string.

Last season, the two sides met at Whitley Park and drew 1-1 with Adam Campbell on target for a United team including Gabriel Obertan and Rolando Aarons.

Admission at Leyland is £3 for adults and £1 concessions.

The squad is: Jak Alnwick, Sammy Ameobi, Adam Armstrong, Daniel Barlaser, Gael Bigirimana, Shane Ferguson, Facundo Ferreyra, Macaulay Gillesphey, Alex Gilliead, Tom Heardman, Ryan McKinnon, Greg Olley, Brendan Pearson, Jonathyn Quinn, Callum Roberts, Lubo Satka, Liam Smith, Callum Williams.
