Alan Pardew has made three changes to his Newcastle United starting line-up as they travel to Cardiff City in the Barclays Premier League (3pm kick-off).

Papiss Cisse, Yohan Cabaye and Mike Williamson all return from the start at the Cardiff City Stadium, as the Magpies look to bounce back to winning ways following successive league defeats.

The trio replace Hatem Ben Arfa, Vurnon Anita and Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, who are all named among United's substitutes.

For centre-back Williamson, it is a first Premier League start of the season - and his 100th start for the Club - and just rewards for an impressive showing as a second-half replacement at Everton on Monday night.

Cabaye also made an impact as a substitute at Goodison Park, with a 35-yard wonder-goal, and comes in to the heart of Newcastle's midfield.

And Senegalese front man Cisse - who netted his first goal of the season ten days ago against Leeds in the Capital One Cup - is recalled up front.

The Magpies will line up in a 4-3-3 formation with goalkeeper Tim Krul behind a defence of Mathieu Debuchy, Williamson, captain Fabricio Coloccini and Davide Santon.

Cabaye joins Cheick Tiote and Moussa Sissoko in a midfield trio, with Yoan Gouffran and Loic Remy either side of Cisse in a three-pronged attack.

On the substitutes' bench, alongside Yanga-Mbiwa, Anita and Ben Arfa, there are places for Rob Elliot, Paul Dummett, Sammy Ameobi and Jonas Gutierrez - the latter of who has been out since the opening day of the season with a hamstring injury.

Cardiff City (4-3-3): David Marshall; Kevin Theophile-Catherine, Ben Turner, Steven Caulker (c), Andrew Taylor; Aron Gunnarsson, Gary Medel, Kim Bo-Kyung; Peter Odemwingie, Fraizer Campbell, Peter Whittingham

Substitutes: Joe Lewis, Mark Hudson, Jordon Mutch, Don Cowie, Craig Noone, Nicky Maynard, Craig Bellamy

Newcastle United (4-3-3): Tim Krul; Mathieu Debuchy, Mike Williamson, Fabricio Coloccini (c), Davide Santon; Yohan Cabaye, Cheick Tiote, Moussa Sissoko; Yoan Gouffran, Papiss Cisse, Loic Remy

Substitutes: Rob Elliot, Paul Dummett, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Vurnon Anita, Jonas Gutierrez, Hatem Ben Arfa, Sammy Ameobi
