Campbell's Young Lions Earn Draw

Written by Newcastle Utd

Adam Campbell helped England Under-19s come from behind to record a 1-1 draw against Georgia on Friday

By Anthony Marshall - Newcastle United Managing Editor

Newcastle United forward Adam Campbell was a second-half substitute as England Under-19s came from behind to record a 1-1 draw against Georgia on Friday afternoon.

The Young Lions played almost all the European Under-19 Championship Elite Round Qualifier with ten men following a seventh-minute red card or goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Giorgi Pantsulaia netted from the resulting free-kick for Georgia but England rallied and levelled in the 38th-minute through Crewe's Max Clayton.

Campbell replaced Clayton on 73 minutes and helped secure a point in Breevenstadion, Bornem.

The Academy graduate, who became United's youngest ever European debutant last August, will be hoping for more game time when England face hosts Belgium on Sunday afternoon.
