Adam Campbell has celebrated turning 19 years old by completing a loan move to Scottish Premier League side St. Mirren on loan.
The forward - whose birthday is on 1st January - has been granted international clearance to join the Buddies until the end of the season.
It is a second loan spell of the season for the teenager, who made one substitute appearance for Carlisle in August before returning to St. James' Park.
He's scored three times in eight Barclays Under-21 Premier League appearances this term, having appeared five times for the first-team last season.
Campbell will link up with fellow Newcastle youngster Conor Newton at St. Mirren Park. The midfielder spent the second half of the previous campaign in Paisley, scoring the winner as Danny Lennon's side won the Scottish League Cup with victory over Hearts at Hampden Park.
Paul Dummett also spent last season on loan with the Buddies.
Campbell could make his debut away to Kilmarnock on Thursday and Saints boss Lennon told his club's official website: "We had hoped to get Adam at the beginning of the season but we have been keeping an eye on him since and now we're pleased to have got him in on loan from Newcastle until the end of the season.
"I've no doubt he'll make a valuable contribution to the team as he brings us something a wee bit different in terms of his effort and runs and I'm sure the fans will get a chance to see him in action at some point in the game against Kilmarnock. We'll be looking to maximise Adam's potential while he helps improve our football club."
