Campbell Back For Saints Trip

Teenage striker Adam Campbell is in line for his first appearance since October when Newcastle take on Southampton in their final Barclays Under-21 Premier League fixture on 2012 on Monday night.

Both sides will be particularly eager to win the game as it could determine where they finish in the table and, as such, which tier they will be in when the leagues split in the new year. United are currently sixth and so would go into Tier Two unless they can overtake the Saints, who are one place above them and currently in line to play in Tier One.

As well as 17-year-old Campbell, who made his senior bow in the Europa League fourth qualifying round first leg tie in Atromitos in August, Willie Donachie and Peter Beardsley are able to call on two other players with first-team experience - midfielders Romain Amalfitano and Mehdi Abeid.

And defender Curtis Good is also available. He is currently on loan at League Two side Bradford but due to the terms of his youth loan, is also able to turn out for the Magpies.

The same applies to Marcus Maddison and JJ Hooper, who are on loan at Blyth and Workington respectively, but the Magpies are without Bradden Inman who has scored twice in two League One games for Crewe.

Also missing is defender Lubo Satka, who is recovering from a minor groin problem, while Remie Streete, Alex Nicholson and Michael Richardson are making good progress after long-term injuries.

Kick-off is 7pm at the Silverlake Stadium - home of Blue Square Bet South outfit Eastleigh Town - and the squad which flew to South Coast on Monday morning is: Mehdi Abeid, Jak Alnwick, Romain Amalfitano, Adam Campbell, Lee Desmond, Alex Gilliead, Curtis Good, JJ Hooper, Alex Kitchen, Dennis Knight, Steven Logan, Marcus Maddison, Brandon Miele, Jonathan Mitchell, Michael Riley.
