Cameron's Bravehearts Reach Semis

Written by Newcastle Utd

Kyle Cameron helped Scotland to reach the semi-finals of the UEFA European Under-17 Championships while England are also in the last four

Kyle Cameron played the whole game as Scotland came from behind to beat Switzerland on Thursday and join England in the last four of the UEFA European Under-17 Championships.

Needing only a point to go through, the Tartan Army trailed at half time to Dimitri Oberlin's 19th minute strike.

But four minutes into the second half, Craig Wighton equalised before Jake Sheppard put the Scots in front.

And in the 63rd minute, Ryan Hardie headed home a third before Robby McCrorie saved a late penalty.

England also qualified despite a 2-0 loss to Holland earlier in the day.

With England's semi-final place already secure, Freddie Woodman and Adam Armstrong were both rested with the latter entering the fray in the second half.

John Peacock's Young Lions will now face Portugal on Sunday evening while Scotland will take on the Dutch for a place in the final.
