Four Newcastle United players have been called up to represent their respective countries over the next few weeks.

United striking duo Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse are in the Senegal squad for their friendly against Egypt later this month.

The Lions of Teranga face Egypt in Marrakesh on Thursday, 24th May, and the pair of forwards could be involved following excellent first seasons on Tyneside.

Ba topped Newcastle's scoring charts with 16 goals, having made the switch from West Ham United last summer, while Cisse hit a remarkable 13 goals in just 14 appearances following his January arrival at the Club.

Midfielder Chieck Tiote has a trio of fixtures to look forward to with Ivory Coast.

The first - a friendly on Saturday, 26th May - is against opposition who are yet to be confirmed, and that will be followed up with two World Cup qualifiers.

Tiote and Co will take on Tanzania on Saturday, 2nd June, in Abidjan, and a week later go head-to-head with Morocco in Marrakesh.

Reserve team defender Tamas Kadar will be hoping to add to his three senior caps for Hungary as they face the Czech Republic in Prague on Friday, 1st June, followed by a clash with the Republic of Ireland in Budapest on Monday, 4th June.
