Cabaye Features In France Friendly

Written by Newcastle Utd

Yohan Cabaye played for France against Uruguay on Wednesday night, while Mathieu Debuchy was an unused substitute

By Dan King - Newcastle United Club Reporter

Yohan Cabaye won his 21st cap for France on Wednesday night, but Les Bleus were beaten 1-0 by Uruguay in Montevideo.

A 50th minute goal from Liverpool's Luis Suarez proved the difference in an international friendly which saw Mathieu Debuchy remain on the visitors' bench throughout.

Cabaye entered the fray as a 76th minute replacement for Blaise Matuidi but he couldn't inspire his side to find an equaliser in the closing stages.

France now take on Brazil on Sunday in another South American friendly, with the Newcastle pair hoping to be involved again.
