Alan Pardew was left scratching his head as to how Newcastle United failed to score against Norwich on Tuesday night.
The Magpies somehow had to settle for a goalless draw at Carrow Road, despite dominating almost the entire contest and having 22 shots in the process.
They struck both posts and the crossbar, as well as forcing Canaries keeper John Ruddy in to a number of saves, but were unable to breach the hosts' rearguard.
"We dominated the play, we changed our tactics and it worked well for us," Pardew told nufcTV.
"Hatem and Sammy terrorised them in the first half but it just didn't feel like it was going to go in.
"It was one of those nights where their goal was charmed. We had chance after chance come but I'm very pleased with the performance because we were outstanding.
"We thoroughly deserved the point and anybody who was here would say we probably deserved to win as well."
Despite all United's chances, the main talking point of the fixture came with nine minutes remaining when Remy and Bradley Johnson were both dismissed following a spat on the touchline.
And Pardew was disappointed with the Norwich man's role in the double sending-off.
"It was silly, really," said the boss.
"There was a lot of pushing and shoving and they both raised their hands.
"They both then had their heads meet, and that was probably enough for the referee.
"But Johnson should be ashamed of his reaction because he never got head-butted. He threw himself away and when he does that, you know they are both getting sent-off.
"If he hadn't done that then maybe the referee books them."
