Bigi's Boys Secure Chile Draw

Written by Newcastle Utd

Gael Bigirimana was an unused substitute for England Under-20s as they came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw with Chile

Gael Bigirimana was an unused substitute for England Under-20s as the Young Lions came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw with Chile on Wednesday night.

The United midfielder, who made his competitive international bow as a late substitute in England's first group game of the Under-20 World Cup on Sunday, had to watch on from the sidelines for the full 90 minutes this time.

Peter Taylor's side fell behind just past the half hour mark when Nicolas Castillo struck home a penalty for Chile.

But England improved after the break and got their reward in the 64th minute as Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane found the bottom corner following good work from Everton duo John Stones and Ross Barkley.

Bigirimana and Co face Egypt in their final group game on Saturday night (7pm kick-off).
