Newcastle will travel to Derby County in the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup after the Rams beat Stoke City on Thursday night

By Dan King - Newcastle United Digital Editor

After reaching the last 16 of the FA Youth Cup with a 4-0 Tyne-Wear derby win over Sunderland on Monday night, Newcastle United will travel to Derby County in the fifth round.

The Rams beat Stoke City 3-1 at the iPro Stadium on Thursday night to earn the right to face Dave Watson's side, who had already knocked out Barnsley in the third round.

After a scoreless first half, Derby took a 61st minute lead through Kwame Thomas before Charles-Anthony Weston-Hayles was sent off for the Potters

Mason Bennett made it 2-0 on 75 minutes before Jamie Hanson added a third, with Yusuf Coban's stoppage time strike for Stoke a mere consolation.

Derby beat Wigan 4-3 in the third round and nufc.co.uk will announce details of the tie once confirmed.
