Vurnon Anita was delighted to silence his teammates with his first goal of the season at Hull

Vurnon Anita was all smiles after Newcastle United's 4-1 victory at Hull City on Saturday - knowing he had silenced the jokes of his teammates with a rare goal.
Often the subject of training ground gags due to his finishing, the Dutch midfielder popped up at the far post deep into stoppage time to tap home the Magpies' final effort of an impressive afternoon's work at the KC Stadium.
It was Anita's first goal of the season and completed another outstanding performance from all-action star, who has rapidly become a key figure in manager Alan Pardew's plans.
And the former Ajax man has set his sights on finding the back of the net a few more times between now and the end of the campaign.
"I had been searching for it all the time, trying to go forward," Anita told nufc.co.uk.
"Dummy and Gos combined well and the ball fell nicely for me. I just had to tap it in.
"I have waited a long time for a goal this season and all the guys make jokes about it, so I've got something to say back now!
"I hope it's the first of a few. Moussa has three now so I want to catch him."
The victory was a milestone 100th Premier League away win for the Magpies, and Anita insists maximum points were never in doubt.
"We were very strong in the game and felt like we were the best team on the pitch," he continued.
"We had a lot of confidence to win the game and did very well on the counter-attack. That is the way we thought we were going to score and we did it like that three times.
"Everybody is very happy because it was a good away win, a good performance and a good three points."
