A Knight In Shining Armour For Barnsley

Written by Newcastle Utd

Former Newcastle youngster Dennis Knight has joined Championship strugglers Barnsley

By Dan King - Newcastle United Club Reporter

Former Newcastle youngster Dennis Knight has signed for Barnsley following his departure from St. James' Park.

The gifted midfielder had been with United since the age of eight before leaving the Club by mutual consent last month along with Marcus Maddison, JJ Hooper and Michael Riley.

Knight was quickly offered a trial by Hartlepool along with Riley but a move to Victoria Park fell through so he linked up with the Tykes.

And the 19-year-old has now signed a deal until the end of the season at Oakwell.

Barnsley currently lie 20th in the Championship, two places outside the relegation zone.
