Newcastle United Under-18s recorded their third draw in four games after Kyle Crossley’s late leveller earned them a point against Stoke City on Friday night.
Ben Parkinson's well-taken opener, volleyed home after collecting an Ellis Stanton pass, gave the Magpies the lead after half an hour at Clayton Wood, but Emre Tezgel's equaliser on 60 minutes brought the Potters back onto level terms.
The hosts then went close through Jack Griffith and with just quarter of an hour remaining, Tezgel slotted home his second of the evening from the penalty spot after Stanton was adjudged to have fouled him.
But five minutes from time, winger Crossley rescued United, finishing off some good work from Stanton and Ben Parkinson to steer home his side’s second and ensure that Newcastle would bring a hard-earned point back to the North East.
