United's youngsters played out a goalless draw against their Everton counterparts at Little Benton on Saturday.
The Magpies have now lost only one of their last five matches at this level and could well have won this one, particularly after the visitors were reduced to ten men in the second half.
Martin Sherif had seen an effort ruled out for offside for the Toffees in an otherwise incident-free first period, while Lewis Miley came close for United in the second.
Eddie Jones was then sent off in the 74th minute for a foul on Kyle Crossley and Newcastle created a handful of opportunities, but were unable to take any of them and had to settle for another draw.
