Newcastle United Women 4 Norton & Stockton Ancients Ladies 0
Lauren Robson scored a brace and Georgia Gibson and Katie Barker were also on target as Newcastle United Women closed the gap on leaders Liverpool Feds to two points.
The Lady Magpies couldn't find a way past Norton & Stockton Ancients Ladies in a goalless first half - although Robson hit the crossbar - but the floodgates opened in the second.
Georgia Gibson came off the bench to make her return from a broken toe and within four minutes, she had broken the deadlock with a fantastic free kick from 30 yards out.
And nine minutes later, United doubled their lead, with Gibson influential in that too as her through ball split the defence and Robson slotted home.
Gibson's second assist of her comeback came in the 80th minute, when her shot was saved but leading scorer Katie Barker was there to follow up.
The all-action Gibson then hit the woodwork after connecting with a Robson cross, but there was still time for Becky Langley's side to add another, with Robson's deflected shot making it 4-0.
The Lady Magpies are back in action on Wednesday night, when they take on local rivals Chester le Street Town Ladies at Druid Park. Kick-off is at 7.30pm (GMT) and admission prices are £3 for adults and £1 for under-16s and concessions (contactless payment preferred).
