Newcastle United Women 6 Leeds United Women 2
Newcastle United co-owners Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi watched on as the Lady Magpies hit Leeds United Women for six on Sunday.
The visitors arrived at Coach Lane in third place in FA Women's National League Division One North - one place behind Becky Langley's side - but from the moment Katie Baker gave Newcastle a fifth minute lead, there only ever looked likely to be one winner.
Barker's goal game after good pressing from her, Kacie Elson and Erin Nelson, with Barker dispossessing a defender and slotting home, and in the 11th minute the home side had a second as Elson followed up after Rosie Missen had seen a header blocked.
The third goal came six minutes later, with Barker teeing up Elson to finish well from the edge of the penalty area.
And she completed her hat-trick with Newcastle's fourth in the 36th minute. Ellen Packham played the ball out of defence and into her path, and Elson expertly lifted it over the onrushing goalkeeper Georgia Wattam.
Leeds pulled one back just before half time, with Olivia Smart sending a free kick into the top corner of Grace Donnelly's net, and then with just five minutes left, Sarah Danby scored another for the visitors.
But rather than panic, Langley's lasses scored twice more in stoppage time through two of their teenage substitutes.
First, Georgina Spraggon notched from the edge of the box and then with the last kick of the game, Becky Ferguson got the sixth to send their supporters - including the Magpies' co-owners - home happy and keep the pressure firmly on leaders Liverpool Feds.
