Newcastle United Women went top of the league after another big victory on Sunday.

Katie Barker hit another hat-trick - her fourth of the season - while Lauren Robson, Beth Guy and Becky Ferguson were also on target for the Lady Magpies, who now go into next weekend's eagerly-anticipated Vitality Women's FA Cup fourth round tie with Ipswich Town Women on a massive high.

Becky Langley's side are a point above Liverpool Feds, having played a game more, as they prepare to switch their focus to next Sunday's cup clash at Kingston Park.

Despite taking an early lead through Robson's header, Newcastle were pegged back at the beginning of the second half, but went on to sweep their hosts aside in a stunning second-half display.

In the 53rd minute, Robson's shot was saved but Barker followed up to score, then three minutes later Guy rifled home a stunning strike from 30 yards.

Barker's volley made it four in the 71st minute before the number nine completed her hat-trick four minutes later with a typically clinical finish.

And there was still time for substitute Ferguson to make it six of the best as she rounded the goalkeeper and slotted into the empty net.

Tickets for Sunday's Vitality Women's FA Cup tie are £3 for adults and free for under-16s, concessions and Newcastle United Women season ticket holders. Kick-off is at 2pm (GMT) and pay on the gate opens from 12.30pm.
