The Lady Magpies - who are the current holders after last season's competition was cancelled due to the Covid-19 outbreak - will now face Wallsend BC Women in the final at Whitley Park.

Becky Langley's side took the lead in the 19th minute of this semi-final when Katie Barker fed Kacie Elson, who fired into the top corner of the net.

Rhiannon Gray hit a post in the first half and Imogen Longcake struck the crossbar in the second before Barker saw a penalty saved in the 50th minute.

But she doubled United's lead in the 69th minute after latching onto Georgia Gibson's through ball and, after Gibson had seen a free kick crash back off the crossbar, Barker got her second and Newcastle's third in the 82nd minute following Sharna Wilkinson's lay-off.

Wallsend BC Ladies beat Cullercoats Ladies 12-2 in the other semi-final and the final will be played on Friday, 21st May. More details will be announced in due course.
