Newcastle United Women 4 Stockport County Ladies 0
Newcastle United Women's final home game of 2019 ended in an excellent 4-0 win against Stockport County Ladies on Sunday.
Brianna Westrup opened the scoring in the 39th minute before the Lady Magpies added three more goals in the second period.
Jess Foster made it 2-0 in the 57th minute, firing home from Megan McKenzie's pass, before McKenzie finished off a fine team move between Maisie Cole and Foster to get United's third.
Substitute Steph Ord then rounded off the scoring in the 73rd minute, with manager Becky Langley hailing the performance as: "Absolutely fantastic."
She added: "So proud of the players and staff. Team performance. Some beautiful football on show in some horrific conditions." The team also joined the men's players in supporting the club's United As One campaign.
The day was marred only by late injuries to Imogen Longcake and Rebecca Olley, but forward Anna Soulsby made her first appearance of the season from the bench after returning from a broken ankle.
