Newcastle United's vital first win of the season came against Burnley at St. James' Park in December; on Sunday, the final day of the 2021/22 Premier League campaign, Eddie Howe's side are, astonishingly, looking for their 13th victory of a term which truly came to life after those three points against the Clarets.
The Magpies' form in 2022 means they go into the fixture at Turf Moor aiming to finish in the top ten but the pressure is on Burnley, who need three points to be certain of staying in the top flight at the expense of Leeds United.
Interim manager Mike Jackson could welcome Jay Rodriguez back after he missed the last four games through injury, but Ben Mee, Ashley Westwood, Matej Vydra and Johann Berg Gudmundsson are all ruled out.
United, meanwhile, will be without Jonjo Shelvey and Joe Willock, while Ryan Fraser and Fabian Schär are also doubts. Chris Wood could return against his former club, while Kieran Trippier is also pushing for a start. Ahead of Sunday's game, Callum Wilson spoke to NUFC TV.
