Premier League

Liverpool v Newcastle United

Kickoff:

Joelinton: "We know how difficult it is to go up against such high quality players, but anything can happen in football"

In-form Joelinton says Newcastle United must take motivation from the club's woeful recent record at Anfield when they travel to last season's Premier League champions Liverpool on Saturday.

The Brazilian has two goals in his last three matches but knows that the Magpies haven't won at the Reds' famous stadium since Steve Watson chipped home the only goal of the game in November 1995 - with their last league success coming back in April 1994, when Rob Lee and Andy Cole were on target.

But Joelinton told NUFC TV: "I think we've got a really good, strong team and I think if we're strong mentally, we can have a great game and achieve something. We had a meeting (on Thursday) and were told Newcastle haven't won at Anfield for 27 years. I think we need to take this into the game with us and do our best as, if we win, it will be incredible for all of us."
