Newcastle travel to Deepdale on Saturday to face a Preston North End side who they beat three times last season.
Aleksandar Mitrovic scored four times against them and, on the final day of United's Ireland training camp, the big striker spoke to NUFC TV about the Magpies' pre-season campaign.
"We beat them three times (last season) but I think they are a good team and I am expecting a hard game. We are here to fight for our places and we have to give everything."
