Lovely play from Dummett, Shelvey and then Haidara to escape another Chelsea attack. There has been a great energy about this Newcastle display throughout.

SAVE! Crucial sweeping up from Courtois to deny Perez a hat-trick! Murphy sweeps the pass in behind and the goalkeeper is there just ahead of Perez.

Bakayoko goes for goal, but there are two Newcastle players there to block. Moses appears to be in on the right, until the offside flag goes up.

Even at 3-0, Newcastle are throwing bodies in front of the ball. Chelea cannot breach the 18-yard box right now.

WIDE! Joselu shoots past the post but what play by Perez! He chips the ball up, keeps it in the air, turns a man and volleys to his strike partner. The effort is rather tame.

What a challenge! Chelsea look to break, but Lejeune times his tackle on Willian to perfection. Shelvey and Diame have the ball again.

Murphy shows his strength, pace and skill again to turn away from Azpilicueta. He takes a kick, but quickly returns to his feet.

The Newcastle fans are cheering every pass as their side cruise to victory. It ends with Dubravka hacking upfield, however.

Both Willian and Morata are immediately involved, but the latter is caught offside as he looks to get in behind Lascelles.

Newcastle get defenders back to hold up Hazard in the area. Emerson's cross is way over the heads of his team-mates, before Moses' return delivery is similarly wasteful. Hayden carries the ball away.

Shelvey is really enjoying himself. A gorgeous pass feeds Hayden on the right and the ball makes its way back to the England international, who nearly picks out Joselu in the middle.

A couple of poor Newcastle challenges allow Chelsea to attack up the right, but the consequent cross is well held by Dubravka.

Yedlin now takes the opportunity to receive some attention. He looks to be able to continue.

CHANCE! Another opening for Chelsea! Giroud drills a shot high and wide from Moses' cross. Newcastle are unhappy as Yedlin went down in the build-up and was still ailing as Giroud got free in the box.

CHANCE! After a tight couple of minutes, Moses cannot shoot on target inside the area. Barkley slaloms through and the ball breaks for Moses, but Lascelles is on hand to force him wide and he scuffs off target.

Chelsea are keeping possession, but every time Newcastle get the ball, they are roared onwards. Murphy is causing the Blues all sorts of problems.

What an atmosphere there is at St James' Park now! Just as against Tottenham two years ago, the crowd are saluting their manager and his rampant side.

SAVE! What a stop from Dubravka! Chelsea should be back in this one. Hazard leads a counter and feeds Barkley, who Lascelles cannot bring down. Hazard takes over and returns the ball to Barkley again. He shoots hard and low, but Dubravka blocks.

And Newcastle are back on top again! Murphy crosses to Perez, Chelsea clear and then head away again from a second Joselu delivery. Corner.

The Blues are still struggling to create clearcut openings, though. Azpilicueta lofts a pass behind for a goal kick.

Diame is indeed back on his feet, but Chelsea are again in possession. This has been a much better second half.

Diame is down for Newcastle. Shelvey was struggling a couple of minutes ago. Those two dominated the first half and Newcastle will hope both can recover.

SAVE! Dubravka is there again! Chelsea are finally causing some problems. Kante feeds Barkley, but he pushes himself wide and then drills straight at the goalkeeper.

It is Newcastle's turn for a slack pass. Chelsea are throwing men forward, but Diame knocks the ball on to Joselu. He cannot find Perez. Liverpool are three up, meanwhile, and former Chelsea man Dominic Solanke has scored.

Chelsea go short with the corner and get nowhere, but build again. Emerson runs at Ritchie and crosses, with Dummett required to nod clear.

SAVE! What a stop from Dubravka! Chelsea's first chance nearly leads to the equaliser! Barkley crosses and Giroud flicks a lovely lob towards the top-left corner, but the goalkeeper brilliantly parries behind.

Newcastle have men swarming the ball and when it bounces kindly for Chelsea and the visitors move forward, Giroud's pass rolls under Hazard's studs.

Chelsea work the ball better this time in the final third, Kante feeding a pass into Giroud, who flicks into the path of Hazard. The Chelsea man is into the box, but he overruns the ball and Newcastle have a goal kick.

SAVE! Great play from Murphy! He beats both Azpilicueta and Moses on the left, cutting inside to drill a cross-cum-shot towards goal and the lurking Ritchie. Courtois dives on the ball.

And Lascelles ia back on his feet as Newcastle move forward again.

When Chelsea do come forward, Hazard hammers a cross in and strikes Lascelles in a very painful area. He goes down as the crowd audibly gasps.

And the Magpies start on the front foot again. They will want a second goal to prevent a nervy finish.

CLOSE! Newcastle go close yet again! The hosts allow Chelsea to pass the ball around and then Perez deflects a poor Christensen pass. Diame feeds Ritchie, who tees up Perez and the shot just fades wide.

The Blues have a first corner now, however. Emerson delivers and Lejeune flicks the ball behind.

Gayle has a problem for Newcastle. Shelvey looks to prompt a counter-attack and the Newcastle man is clattered. He requires treatment as the home side regroup.

As Emerson gives Newcastle a goal kick with a poor touch by the corner flag, there is more bad news for Chelsea: Liverpool have a second. It would take a huge turnaround for the Blues to reach the Champions League now.

Chelsea are keeping the ball again now. Lascelles is forced to concede a throw-in when Hazard runs in behind. Newcastle have everyone back.

Hazard does really well to shield the ball and find Azpilicueta. A cross from deep looks set to cause problems, but Yedlin is up to head away and Shelvey brings the ball down with ease.

Chelsea move the ball out to the right, but Barkley is crowded out and then so too is Kante. Chelsea are forced back.

Shelvey looks to pick out Gayle with an early free-kick, but he cannot quite stretch towards the ball ahead of Courtois.

Huge ironic cheers as Kante is pulled back for a foul on Perez after a couple more decisions go against Newcastle. Chelsea have been so sluggish.

Another penalty appeal! The initial delivery goes behind for another corner and Ritchie crosses again. Murphy cushions a cleared ball back into the box and Perez appears to be fouled by Azpilicueta. The Newcastle players and fans are furious.

CHANCE! Perez has an opening as Newcastle attack again! Yedlin dashes into the area and the ball breaks for Perez, who takes his time and shoots. The ball strikes a Chelsea arm, but no penalty is given. Corner.

Azpilicueta plays a gorgeous pass in behind to Barkley, but he takes too long to move the ball on and Lascelles cuts out his pass. Chelsea are enjoying a slightly better spell now.

Newcastle thrashed Tottenham on the final day here two years ago. This game has been even more one-sided, but they have only found the net once so far.

Ritchie has been brilliant, too, and he drills a pass into the box, towards Shelvey. It runs through to Courtois as Chelsea escape again.

Diame draws a standing ovation as he brings a looping ball out of the air with a cushioned pass to Ritchie. Newcastle are really enjoying themselves.

Newcastle really want this second goal! Gayle cannot quite find Ritchie with a lay-off. Chelsea might finally have the opportunity to attack.

SAVE! Courtois makes another save from Gayle's curler! Meanwhile, Liverpool lead against Brighton. Chelsea are in real trouble.

Chelsea look to finally respond, but Hazard is halted by Perez and Ritchie, then fouls the former to allow Newcastle to regroup.

CLOSE! It should be two! Perez wins possession, Gayle holds the ball up and tees up Shelvey. The midfielder carries the ball beyond Barkley and hammers a left-footed strike just over.

It is Lejeune who drives Newcastle forward this time, playing the ball into Perez's path. Azpilicueta smashes into the forward and concedes the throw-in.

CLOSE! Brilliant from Diame! He strips Kante of the ball 25 yards out and moves the ball onto his left before blasting just wide. Great play.

SAVE! Courtois to the rescue again! Shelvey plays a lovely pass through to set away Perez, who feeds Ritchie. His cross is heading back towards Perez before Kante toes it goalwards, forcing Courtois to parry and then kick the ball away from the lurking Gayle.

Chelsea keep pushing on that right-hand side, but it ends when Azpilicueta seeks out a measured pass through Barkley and overcooks it. Goal kick.

Yedlin gifts the ball to Bakayoko and the break is on, but the Newcastle defender - so quick across the ground - is back to slow Chelsea. A couple of crosses on the right are then blocked.

Ritchie does really well to work an angle for a cross this time, but Chelsea easily clear. Gayle has struggled to compete with the visiting defenders.

Newcastle adopt a more patient approach this time, but it again ends with a fairly aimless big switch. Ritchie cannot find Gayle or Murphy.

And that spell of pressure comes to an end when Kante handles. Hazard has not really got involved and Chelsea are yet to trouble Dubravka.

A Diame foul allows Chelsea to come forward, but they are a little slower in attack. Lejeune misreads a flick and is still able to get back and make a challenge.

Shelvey and Diame are keeping the ball really well for Newcastle. Chelsea have been poor in that respect, with Barkley particularly wasteful.

Another good move and Yedlin crosses. He floats the ball in but Gayle, dashing towards the near post, is poorly placed. Goal kick.

Ritchie's corner is headed clear, but Chelsea cannot get out. It's all Newcastle.

SAVE! Another good stop from Courtois! Ritchie's cross bypasses everyone and Murphy tees up Diame, who hammers hard and low. Good stop. Corner.

SAVE! Courtois denies Shelvey! Diame goes for goal from fully 30 yards, but Barkley blocks. The ball breaks again, this time to Shelvey, and the shot is true, forcing Courtois to parry.

Shelvey again looks for the big pass from flank to flank, this time towards Murphy. The ball floats over his head, but Newcastle are quickly back on the attack.

Chelsea win back possession but are forced backwards, with Azpilicueta then hammering the ball back to Courtois and nearly catching his goalkeeper out.

Moses gets away from Murphy out wide and prompts a first spell of Chelsea pressure. Diame's firm challenge on Hazard slows the Blues.

Ritchie does really well to keep the ball in on the right, crossing towards Gayle. Christensen can only nod the ball as far as Murphy, but he fails to control 20 yards from goal. Newcastle are well on top.

Ritchie delivers, but Azpilicueta clears, meeting the second cross from the same man, too. Lascelles halts a break at the other end.

Shelvey switches the ball from left to right and Ritchie runs at Bakayoko, drawing a foul. Newcastle have a free-kick on the wing, around 25 yards from goal.

The visitors have not really settled so far. A Cahill pass fizzes out of the play on the left.
