Ritchie darts down the right wing and fires a low cross over to Atsu, who shoots from the edge of the box and curls a strike just a few yards wide of the far post.

Fosu-Mensah cuts inside from the left wing and pokes a pass straight into the feet of Cabaye. The midfielder flicks the ball over the head of Clark and looks set to shoot, but Darlow is there to smother the danger before he can do so.

The fourth official has indicated that there will be four minutes of added time.

Darlow darts out and manages to get a fist on the ball from the resulting corner. It looked as if Shelvey was pulling the shirt of McArthur as they battled for the ball, but neither the referee nor linesman saw anything and play is able to go on.

Off the line by Clark! More brilliant play by Zaha sets up Benteke to get a header away at the far post. It looks certain to find the back of the net, but Clark is there to block the effort with his body on the line. Both McArthur and Benteke quickly try to unleash follow-up shots, but a group of black shirts make sure that the ball bounces behind for a corner.

Zaha cuts inside from the left flank and tries to pick out Cabaye, who had made a good run towards the far post, but Dummett rises high and is just about able to beat the Frenchman to the ball and nod it away from danger.

Great chance for Zaha to make it 2-1! Benteke and McArthur link up really well to set up Zaha to shoot, but the forward puts slightly too much power behind his bending strike and curls it agonisingly wide of the goal. He should have done better with that!

Atsu showcases good skill out wide as he takes on Townsend and wins a corner off the former Newcastle man. Shelvey steps up and chips a cross towards the near post, where it's comfortably cleared by the home side and fails to result in a chance on goal.

Merino quickly gets involved in the action as he storms down the left flank. He takes on Townsend in a good position and is quickly pushed to the ground by the Palace winger, but the referee tells the Spaniard to get back to his feet rather than awarding the visitors a free-kick out wide.

McArthur goes inches away from scoring! Cabaye charges forward on a great run before picking out the Scotland international just outside of the penalty area. He takes a couple of quick touches before shooting, but his strike is slightly too powerful and sails a couple of yards over the top of the crossbar.

And now McArthur goes close! A looping cross is fired into the Newcastle box by Cabaye and looks as if it's going to be easily collected by Darlow. The goalkeeper is put off by Lascelles, though, and ends up dropping the ball, allowing McArthur to unleash a shot that's just about dealt with by Darlow.

Zaha twists and turns inside the visitors' penalty area as he desperately tries to get a shot away. It initially looks as if he's been dispossessed but he somehow holds onto the ball as he skips away from three players, but his eventual strike is comfortably blocked by Lascelles.

Almost a great chance for Atsu! The Palace back line fall asleep and allow Newcastle to send a quick throw-in into the box. Atsu charges towards the ball and tries to get a toe on it ahead of Hennessey, but the goalkeeper is just about able to deal with the danger at the vital moment.

Space opens up over on the left wing and allows McArthur to burst forward. He flies into the penalty area and tries to shoot, but he holds onto the ball for slightly too long and is dispossessed before he can pull the trigger.

Newcastle have struggled to get forward much since the break, but they're eventually able to do so through Yedlin, who does well to win his side a corner. It's fired into the middle of the box and bounces around dangerously before finding its way back to the American, who tries to whip a cross into the penalty area from out wide but is comfortably dealt with by Tomkins.

Benteke does really well to rise high and latch onto a lofted pass before nodding the ball down into the path of McArthur. The midfielder bursts into the box and looks set to shoot, but Lascelles is there to make sure he isn't able to do so.

A poor clearance from Darlow can only find Townsend and allows Palace to quickly counter-attack. The winger sets up Benteke to poke the ball over to Cabaye, who shoots from the edge of the box but, off balance, sends his shot high over the crossbar.

McArthur charges down the right wing as Palace push forward once again. A lovely cross from the Scotsman narrowly misses Zaha before being fired back towards the midfielder, who tries to pull off an audacious flick after Darlow spills the ball but can't quite make decent contact.

Excellent chance for Benteke! Palace are really putting pressure on the Newcastle defence as they try to find a way in front for the first time today. A well-placed corner is fired in by Zaha and perfectly picks out Benteke, who rises high above Dummett and sends his bullet header just over the top of the crossbar.

They're unable to make it count, though, as Cabaye's swinging cross into the heart of the penalty area is well dealt with by Clark at the near post before any of the hosts' players can get a head on the ball.

Chance for Townsend! Zaha sends a clever pass down the left flank and into the path of Van Aanholt, who immediately curls a lovely cross into the box. It sails right onto the head of Townsend, who meets it well but can't quite hit the target with his looping header.

McArthur, who is now playing just behind Benteke, cuts inside from the right wing and is quickly barged to the ground by Kenedy, resulting in a free-kick for Palace in a promising position. It's sent short and worked over to Van Aanholt, who shoots from 30 yards out but fires his audacious effort well wide of the goal.

Palace immediately pile bodies forward as they try to get back into the game, but they're unable to carve out a chance on goal from a corner and are caught on the break. Kenedy flies deep into the hosts' half of the pitch before sending a deft pass through to Perez, but the Brazilian's ball is a poor one and Zaha can easily deal with it after rushing back.

A poor pass from Diame fails to find Dummett and rolls out for a throw-in inside the Newcastle half of the pitch. It's taken quickly and worked over to Van Aanholt, who fires a deep ball towards the visitors' penalty area that sails straight onto the head of Clark.

Zaha twists and turns deep down the left flank as he manages to get away from both Yedlin and Ritchie. He then tries to pick out Townsend with a deep cross over to the far post, but it's slightly overhit and the winger can't quite reach it in front of goal.

Milivojevic is tripped over from behind by Diame, resulting in a free-kick for the hosts midway inside the Newcastle half of the pitch. Cabaye steps up and chips a cross over to the left-hand side of the box, where Lascelles rises high and knocks the ball out for a throw-in.

A cheeky flick from Diame doesn't quick work, and it allows Palace to quickly counter-attack. Zaha charges down the left wing and tries to get on the end of a long pass from Cabaye, but Lascelles is there to get the better of the forward and knock the ball back to Darlow.

Two great saves by Hennessey! A wonderful pass from Perez catches Kelly and perfectly picks out Kenedy. The Brazilian sprints into the box and shoots, but his effort is brilliantly stopped by Hennessey. The ball then rolls out to Perez, who unleashes a quick follow-up that's parried behind expertly by the Palace goalkeeper.

Huge opportunity for Palace to equalise! A really good piece of play by the hosts sets up Fosu-Mensah to cross from deep down the right flank. The Dutchman's pass is a great one and sets up Zaha, who immediately shoots but somehow can't test Darlow.

Kenedy battles his way down the left flank before winning his side a corner. It's whipped into the heart of the box and looks set to pick out Lascelles, but the ball sails just a few inches over the centre-back's head before being cleared.

A deflected cross from Zaha bounces into the path of Milivojevic, who spins and knocks the ball back to Cabaye. The former Newcastle midfielder quickly shoots from 25 yards out, but his effort is a poor one and sails high over the crossbar.

Van Aanholt bursts down the left wing as Palace quickly try to get themselves back into the game, but, once again, the full-back can't quite find Zaha on the edge of the penalty area and sends his pass straight to a black shirt.

Fosu-Mensah is able to get back to his feet and Palace quickly push forward. They're unable to carve out a chance on goal, though, as Van Aanholt's pass towards Zaha fails to find the forward and is easily dealt with by Shelvey.

There are some concerned looks over on the Palace bench, as Fosu-Mensah has gone down injured after tangling with Kenedy. He seemed to get caught in the side of the head by a boot as he fell to the ground, but it looks as if he's going to be able to continue after receiving medical treatment for a few moments.

Palace enjoyed a positive start to the game, but they're now struggling to string together a series of passes inside the visitors' half of the pitch. This time it's Fosu-Mensah who tries to get himself into a good position just outside of the penalty area but is closed down quickly by Kenedy, who is then fouled from behind by the Dutchman.

Great effort by Perez! Fosu-Mensah isn't able to fully clear the danger and allows Newcastle to burst forward once again. Yedlin gets involved over on the right flank and swings a great cross into the middle of the box, where Perez latches onto the ball and forces Hennessey into making a decent diving save.

Clark pushes into the Palace half of the pitch and quickly launches a lofted pass over the top of the hosts' defence. Gayle darts into the box and almost manages to latch onto the ball, but it ends up sailing just past his outstretched boot.

A decent piece of play by Newcastle over on the left flank this time manages to result in a chance on goal for the visitors. Dummett's low cross picks out Ritchie on the edge of the penalty area, and the winger then fires a first-time shot into the hands of Hennessey.

Dummett is able to get forward for the first time today and does well to win Newcastle a throw-in deep down the left wing. It's worked over to the full-back and sets him up to curl a cross into the box, but he can only pick out Hennessey in the middle of the penalty area.

A lovely pass from Van Aanholt splits the Newcastle back line in two and finds Benteke, who takes on Darlow but can't guide his shot past the goalkeeper.

After a slightly slow start to the game, it's Newcastle who now find themselves on the front foot and moving the ball around nicely. Shelvey drifts out wide and fires a low cross into the penalty area, but Benteke gets a foot on the ball to make sure it can only find Hennessey's hands.

Palace push forward on another decent early attack, with Benteke quickly cutting inside from the left flank before heading towards the edge of the box. The Belgian does well to reach it, but miscommunication between himself and Townsend results in the two players getting in each other's way.
