It's Madley In The Middle
Andrew Madley will referee Tuesday night's EFL Cup tie against Preston North End.
The former Huddersfield Town Academy player started refereeing in 2002 at the age of 18 and he became a Football League official in 2011. He has twice refereed at Wembley, taking charge of the FA Vase final in 2015 and that year's League One play-off final between Preston and Swindon Town.
His only previous game involving Newcastle came earlier this season, when the Magpies beat Reading 4-1 at St. James' Park. He showed six yellow cards that day and in 13 games so far this term he has shown 40 yellow cards and no reds in all competitions.
On Tuesday, he will be assisted by James Wilson and Mark Dwyer. David Coote is the fourth official.
