Young midfielder Michael Richardson has signed a month-long loan deal with Accrington Stanley.
The flame-haired 21-year-old - who scored in Newcastle's under-21 victory over Workington last week - has previously spent time with Leyton Orient and Gillingham and will be at the Store First Stadium until August 28th.
League Two side Stanley, managed by James Beattie, kick off their competitive campaign at home to newly-promoted Newport on Saturday and trained with his new team-mates on Thursday morning.
Richardson, a former apprentice electrician, joined Newcastle from Walker Central in 2010 after a successful trial.
He has yet to make his first team debut but has been named on the bench in the Barclays Premier League on a handful of occasions and signed a new one-year contract this summer.
Speaking to the official Accrington Stanley website, Richardson said: "It's all happened pretty quickly. It's been like my other loan moves where you get a phone call and you're on your way on the same day. I'm really happy to be here and had a good training session with the team this morning and I'm looking forward to the first game on Saturday.
"First team football is exactly what I need. I want to come out and get as many appearances under my belt as I can to help further my career and help Accrington on as much as I can.
"Hopefully I can get regular games and play as well as possible and that feedback will go back to Newcastle to help me further my career there."
